12 prominent scientists from the science domains Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES) and Health and Research Development (ZonMw) are to receive Vici grants worth up to 1.5 million euros. 6 of them will contribute to more insight in diseases and theit treatments. Vici is one of the largest scientific grants for individuals in the Netherlands and targets advanced researchers. - Afbeelding

A slight change of course is on the horizon for NWO’s Talent Scheme (Veni, Vidi, Vici). Consultation with the research field has provided NWO with answers that it will use to amend the scheme. From 12 September onwards, physicians who hold a PhD can once again submit a proposal for the ZonMw programme Clinical Fellows. A Clinical Fellowship is an individual grant for medical specialists who want to build a bridge between research and clinical practice in their own discipline. Oncode Institute will continue for another 5 years, starting January 1, 2023. The first phase of the 2023 round of Create2Solve can start with the 6 proposals selected by ZonMw to develop animal-free innovations for industry and research.
