It is not easy to include patients of family doctors in medical research projects. ‘There are approximately 5,000 family doctors in the Netherlands, and they are all extremely busy,’ explains Professor Jochen Cals from the University of Maastricht. - Long COVID is diagnosed if the symptoms still persist after three months. However, it is not known which symptoms patients might have suffered from prior to COVID-19.
