Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common sexually transmitted infection. Amongst other effects, it can cause cervical cancer. Of the more than 80 different types of HPV, however, only some are potentially harmful. They are known as high-risk viruses (hr-HPV). A mass screening programme has been set up to detect them. - Many patients with persistent symptoms following a COVID-19 infection make considerable use of recovery care, such as physiotherapy, but it is not known if they recover sufficiently with this support.
