Appropriate and sustainable care for the elderly: blended learning for effective nursing care

The application of the ‘low value nursing care’ interventions is of great importance to deliver effective and high-quality care.

Aim

Reducing actions without added value contributes to reduced risk of complications, saves time, reduced costs, and decreases environmental impact. This is important to ensure sustainable care in the future.

Approach

We focus on teaching change methods with team leaders in the lead, supported by consultants who guide teams across the different care settings. The developed strategies and products can be used for scaling up to other teams and organizations.

Appropriate nursing care

To encourage the implementation of appropriate care and the de-implementation of inappropriate care, we are investing in the (de-)implementation of interventions listed on the 'appropriate nursing care' lists. This project is one of them. View the other projects.
