Appropriate Childcare program, appropriate care for the vulnerable child & family with complex care

Amalia Children's Hospital's Appropriate Child Care program (PKZ) focuses on the most vulnerable children and their families. Vulnerability can stem from illness but also from living conditions such as work and income, education and digital skills.

Providing care/support in the right place

PKZ focuses on providing care/support in the right place: at the heart of the family. The goal is to reduce vulnerability while also supporting the caregiver. This way they provide better care and hope to reduce the pressure on the healthcare system. They are working on future-proof care for vulnerable patients.

Aim

This study follows 20 patients and their families for 1.5 years and helps us better understand what the key components of the program are and how it contributes to better care for child and family. And how it helps take the burden off care with smart applications so that even in current times with rising healthcare costs, the best care can continue to be delivered to the most vulnerable children.
