ELEcTric: Entrepreneurial Leadership in assessing Emergent Technologies in primary care. A design research project in GP-education.

The work area of GPs is characterized by ever increasing change and unpredictability. The fast-pacing technological innovations require a new type of entrepeneurial leadership from GPs based on curiosity and creativity that is informed by evidence.

Objectives

This project aims to create an curriculum that enables GP trainees to develop the leadership they need to prosper in challenging times while taking responsibility.

Approach

The GP specialist training institutes of Leiden and Rotterdam will join forces and create living labs rooted in society and academia. In these labs we will study how GP trainees can be equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitudes that they need to critically reflect on the role of technology in their profession, to assess technological, data-driven innovation from an academic perspective, and to develop an evidence-informed leadership role in society. During the project this innovative curriculum will continuously be improved by repetitive evaluation and improvement.
