Optimizing specialist responses in digital interdisciplinary consultations across diverse platforms
Aim
This study aims to improve the effectiveness of Digital Interdisciplinary Consultations (DIDC) by developing recommendations for medical specialists on providing useful and educational responses. This will enhance efficient patient care in primary care settings, expand general practitioners' knowledge, and optimize transmural collaboration, potentially leading to more targeted referrals, less digital consultations and more appropriate care. Patients will receive timely care and avoid hospital visits.
Approach
To develop these recommendations, we will first identify different types of responses based on digital consultations obtained from previous research. Next, general practitioners will assess these response types for their usefulness and educational value through a vignette study. Finally, in collaboration with medical specialists, general practitioners and patients, we will formulate recommendations for providing educational and practical responses.
Previously funded project
