High resolution thermal analysis of RF exposure guidelines
Van radiofrequente velden is wetenschappelijk bewezen dat ze de temperatuur in lichaamsweefsel plaatselijk kunnen verhogen. Radiofrequente velden zijn een subtype van elektromagnetische velden (EMV) die onder meer geproduceerd worden door mobiele telefoons, radio- en tv-zendmasten en antidiefstalpoortjes. De plaatselijke temperatuursverhoging is tot nu toe het enige gevonden effect van dit type EMV op het menselijk lichaam, zonder dat daarvan precies duidelijk is welke gezondheidsgevolgen dit kan hebben. In de dagelijkse praktijk speelt dit effect niet: mobiele telefoons bijvoorbeeld hebben veel te weinig vermogen om lichamelijke opwarming te veroorzaken. Bij speciale apparatuur waar beroepsgroepen mee te maken hebben, ligt dit echter anders.
