Cost-effectiveness study of Partnering for Change approach; a SROI analysis

Children with support needs are more likely to have problems with school participation. Current interventions to promote school participation are insufficiently effective. The Occupational Therapy Partnering for Change approach (P4C) aims to optimize school participation of children with and without support needs in the classroom.

Aim

This project aims to investigate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of P4C in Dutch primary schools for the first time. More insight into these factors is crucial for schools to move towards broader implementation and funding of P4C. Effectiveness will be assessed using a quasi-experimental controlled design and cost-effectiveness (social and economic value) will be evaluated through a SROI-analysis.

Approach

In this study, P4C is implemented in primary schools in Limburg, Leeuwarden and Nijmegen.

Expected results

It is expected that school participation and positive health of children with and without support needs will increase after implementation of P4C.
